A new plan would help rebuild downtown and change jurisdiction over the airport. Will it fly? The current session of the legislature will be the first step.
Part of the vision for downtown includes the proposed LSU/VA hospital. We will hear what Governor Jindal has to say about it.
We’ll also look at the latest from Baton Rouge as well as tomorrow’s special congressional general election and a change at the FBI. Our Future Watch segment looks at what to expect from the presidential election in Louisiana and we will look at the continued success of the Hornets, on the court and in the accounting office.
Starting for us are tonight’s Informed Sources:
-- Errol Laborde, Producer, Informed Sources
-- Eric Paulsen, Morning Show Host and Reporter, WWL tv., Ch. 4,
-- John Maginnis, Publisher, La. Politics Weekly

New Orleans hosted a North American economic summit and an NBA playoff game this week. The city was the winner in both. And while the two presidents and the prime mister who were in town cannot compete for accolades with Chris Paul, their presence placed the city in the big leagues of International trade.
In Baton Rouge the legislature is still lifting through proposed laws including several centered on religious based issues. At Tulane and Broad the Antoinette Franks saga continued as a judge signed a death warrant . We’ll be looking at these stories tonight as well as looking back at the politics that made the New Orleans Arena possible and our Future watch segment looks ahead to the condition of local flora.
Planting the seeds are our Informed Sources:
-- Errol Laborde, Producer, Informed Sources
-- Kevin McGill, reporter, Associated Press
-- Rob Masson, reporter, WVUE tv., Ch. 8
-- Dawn Ostron, our Future Watch reporter
